Identifying Insect Eggs on an Apple Tree - rows of medium tan round eggs on branchWhat kind of eggs are these? I just found them on my apple tree. I'd like to know if these eggs belong to a beneficial insect or not.

It is hard to tell. There are harmless butterfly eggs that are white and then there are harmful moth and fly (maggot) eggs that are very similar.

If you are in the US see if your Home Extension Office can help you tell which is which. They will need a clear close up.

They are some sort of a moth egg that lives in your area. Now the weather is becoming warmer the moths lay their eggs for spring. They are not dangerous and yu should not have an issue with them.

If you don't want all the moths around the area you can scrap them off the old tree stump and get rid of them before they hatch.
