Identifying a Porcelain Doll?

Identifying a Porcelain Doll - old style doll with porcelain head, arms, and legs and cloth bodyIt had the number 5 on it's body. I do know the material for the head is different from that of the limbs. It's approximately 24 inches tall.

This looks like an antique doll. I would take this doll to a dealer who specialize in dolls.

She looks like a German low brow doll. The one on Etsy has a marking 2.

On eBay there are a number in the completed auctions for this style of doll in various heights, outfits, and conditions, but unfortunately most are unsold, which means the market value us less than what people are asking for them. The prices asked ranged from low teens to high hundreds.

If you want to sell, talk to an antique dealer you trust to get an idea if the exact value for yours based on condition and supply/demand in your area. If you want value to insure, talk to you your insurance agent.

i also believe she is a German doll and it appears that she may have her original clothes (increases value). Hopefully you found someone that knows antique dolls and could give you origin as well as a firm date she was made.
