I dont recognize the mark. Why dont you take it to an antiques dealer who specializes in dolls and toys?

Your doll may be valuable but marks without other identifying bits makes it difficult to search for information.

  • It would be helpful if you knew anything about the country your relatives lived in or even what area in the US.

  • Finding a local doll expert may be difficult but if you live in a large city there may be someone that can help with identifying the mark.
  • I would suggest you seek several appraisals so you will know the information you need for a true history and value.
  • Here is a link that has several companies listed that offer "free" appraisals but always check this "free" offer out yourself.

  • Here is a link to Barneby's appraisal site but they charge $17. You may wish to use them also.

dollreference.com has a whole section on how to ID these old dolls.

the style to me looks German and the logo looks a lot like the Gustav Heubach doll mark GH which were produced from 1923 - 37

if you look at this link you can see the logo and the expressiveness of the faces and the colouring match your doll dollreference.com/heubach_gebruder_dolls.html

i would feel confident saying this is a Gebrüder Heubach Dolls from Thuringia
