Please help identify this figurine. It was purchased in Italy around the time of the Second World War. It is signed on the back by the artist.

OMG, she is a stunning art deco design. Very 1930s to me! She looks more eastern European to me by her features and coloring.
Can you take a piece of paper and cover the signature and with a pencil lightly go over it to see if the letters become more apparent? Post back with what you see.
It is so hard to make it out from a photo. First initial...is it a G or C or E?
