We call them Victorian 4 leaf clover accent or end or lamp tables. Very common where I am.

Are you asking to value it? If so, let me know plus where you are located.

Thanks for responding. You may have a "marriage" or "franken" piece, where a handy person took legs from one piece and the body from another and put them together.

I looked at this up close on a bigger screen and it sort of has marriage lines--the way the lower clover is attached to the legs does not look factory made.

It could be, I am only gauging by a photo. An expert would need to really look at it in person to see exactly what you have and the constrruction.

If you want insurance value, you can always take it to a reputable antique dealer (ideally one certified in appraising, and ask. Here is a website that may help with your search-- www.isa-appraisers.org/find-an-appraiser

Post back what you learn. It is a very neat piece.

Many thanks for all you thoughts, much appreciated. I am actually based in the UK so I will try and find someone local. All a bit of a mine filed at the mo as we have a lot of furniture that was purchased by my partners grandmother who was rather well off and travelled the world and purchased china and furniture from everywhere and most if has been sitting in storage for over 40 years so I am going through things slowly.

I understand your comments on may be a marriage piece but I cannot find anything with the same design on the top regardless of the legs of shelf section which is strange. Hopefully someone on here will come up with an idea. Do love this this site and thanks again.

Hi again, the more I think about this table, I am wondering if it is was a gaming table--4 card table perhaps. Those circles give off that vibe....each person places their bets and gets their cards dealt to their circle.

Just a thought. I am much more familiar with US pieces since that is where I am, and would just love to know what a UK antique expert says about this piece.

I hope you will post back what you learn! Thanks again for sharing!
