I believe this is a Queen Anne style vanity or dressing table -- actually not a desk. It appears to made of rosewood, which is a protected species and highly regulated in commerce. Probably worth consulting a professional dealer on this one; they can assess the value based on details we can't discern from the image (joints, etc.).

It is a ladies dressing table. Missing mirror and chair or stool.

Handles do not look original.

Age is hard to tell as is if it is a real burled wood or a veneer. I need to see pieces in person to better determine age and value.

I see you have it on insta appraisers site. Maybe they have better eyes than I do.

Post back what the tell you. Are you asking to value to sell it?

Your piece has a very unusual design. I have been looking for a piece that looks a bit like yours for quite some time. I found a dresser similar to yours www.vinterior.co/.../1910s-chippendale-venetian-baroque..., www.1stdibs.com/.../?epik=dj0yJnU9UlBEc1FaZ2Z1SnRWTjRrYXhBY3BpVGZpVkNETmE5c08mcD0wJm49OE1fNFFUNTl5cy0wY2dQOHRvblk3ZyZ0PUFBQUFBR0VGcjUw.
This Dresser is from the Venetian 1910s Chippendale-Baroque Revival bedroom set by Testolini and Salviati www.1stdibs.com/.../?epik=dj0yJnU9UlBEc1FaZ2Z1SnRWTjRrYXhBY3BpVGZpVkNETmE5c08mcD0wJm49OE1fNFFUNTl5cy0wY2dQOHRvblk3ZyZ0PUFBQUFBR0VGcjUw. This bedroom set is in carved walnut, burl walnut applied, polished with wax, top bedside tables and dresser in Imperial gray marble. The dimensions of the Dresser: H 96 + 87 x W 156 x D 58. Compare the dimensions with your piece. Your piece has different handles and no marble, but the designs and shapes are very similar. Most likely this company made the same bedroom sets of different variants, using different wood. I think you have a dresser and it also had a marble cover to which a mirror was attached, and then the mirror was removed along with the marble cover.

Or maybe someone copied this design, but I did not find anything else that even a little bit similar to this piece. Therefore, you need to examine your piece again. I hope that you have already looked for a manufacturer's marks or at least some inscriptions at your piece (I have already come across cases here when people asking to find at least some information did not bother to carefully examine the items of interest to them, which, as a result, had labels with identifying information). Check if there is suddenly plywood or particle board somewhere. These materials were not used in furniture making until the 1930s.

So you have a Chippendale-Baroque Revival dresser, it should have had a mirror. Presumably Venetian 1910s Chippendale-Baroque Revival dresser by Testolini and Salviati. The price of 1910s Chippendale Venetian Baroque Revival Bedroom Set in Carved Walnut in excellent conditionis is $58,100.83 (per set). Your dresser doesn't have a mirror, but even so, its price won't be low if it really is from the 1910s. Therefore, consult a specialist to find out the age of your dresser.

I think your best bet on wood type, age, maker, etc., is to consult an antiques appraiser that specializes in furniture. They will be able to look it over thoroughly, determine condition, and answer all your questions. Good Luck !!!

This could be an original or a reproduction. Look for identifying marks in a drawer, underneath or behind the piece. This will help you figure out who made it, how old it is and how much it is worth.

A ladies vanity/dressing table.
Probably a reproduction but check for any marks, numbers on back and inside drawers.
I agree with PGHgirl that it probable had a stool/short chair and a mirror.

Handles should be replaced with same period style handles.
If InstAppraial provides information please post back.

You can also post these pictures (and picture of back and underside of drawers) on Reddit and other sites.
