Repairing a Bergamó Glider Rocker?

Repairing a Bergamó Glider Rocker - partsMy husband inherited a glider rocker that we had bought his mother at least 15 years ago, and it has been squeaking like a mouse for the past month. He's tried to lubricate the bearings, nuts, bolts, and washers. That did not help, and today he took the glider apart, finding out that one of the bearings was extremely worn out. I have a photo attached of the set up, but we can't find the parts anywhere in order to replace them. I found this forum after searching online for any of the parts, and hopefully someone can give us some help.

I would go to a large hardware store or furniture repair shop. They should be able to get a part that fits

We've done that too, we've even emailed a couple places that we found online that sold something similar, and the place is said they would get back to us which of course they haven't. I have a feeling we're going to be unlucky, and we're going to have to update them somehow. Thank you guys all so much.

Does the piece have a maker on it (brand name) if so, Google the company and see if it is still around, and if they are find their contact info. They may be able to get you the part ASAP or tell you a local source.

Good luck! It is always hard when things we love break.

@ Judy and @ Pghgirl40

We've tried our local hardware stores, and even looked for those "mom and pop" type places with no luck. The only name we found on the glider was Bergamó, and for the life of us, we can't find that name anywhere online. I think we're going to be S.O.L.

Thanks so much for your input!

Good morning...Sorry...I see now part of my message was missing. The Bergamo is a fabric company, they most likely won't be able to help you, what I meant to ask was if the metal parts had a name, but you said it doesn't.

I haven't tried it, but there are websites devoted to the old gliders and this one says it sells parts. Perhaps they can help.

I have the same chair and was loking for new bearings too. I found some on a website called AliExpress. It's for chinese goods. If you search for rocking chair bearings, you'll find a variety of sizes and types.

I am going through this with a Shermag glider and it looks like they use the exact same part. I have contacted Shermag but their support is supposedly not very good. In the meantime, I managed to find an almost exact match on eBay.

The measurements look right but the shaft of the bolt is a little different. You'll see threads exposed, but it should work. I ordered a pair to see if they fit. Here's the part I ordered: www.ebay.com/.../142981077648

I am going through this same issue. Wanted to check if the part you came across ended up working and if you could please share the product code or image as the link no longer works?
