Repairing an H20 Mop?

The H20 Mop button no longer works. It will not turn off. What can I do to fix it or where can I send in for repairs?

It sounds like there is a connection problem with the switch and one of the cables has come loose. You should take the handle apart and check the wiring on the switch. You can also check out the post here on Thrifty Fun about repairing your mop www.thriftyfun.com/Repairing-an-H2O-Steam-Mop.html

If it doesnt turn off one of the wires to the switch is loose or broken. Go to YouTube for videos on how to fix this.

Sorry but the switch is mounted on the PCB which is behind the black plastic cap (held by 3 screws) in the body cover, it has 4 wires coming from it, Red (live to PCB) Blue (Neutral to PCB) and 2 white wires which connect to P1-P2 on the PCB these are the pump feeds and if you follow them 1 goes to a terminal and then continues was a black wire to the thermal/current protection device. the other white wire goes to a connector an d continues as a red wire to the pump. You will have to search for a compatible SPST latching push switch if yours is not working, The switch has large terminals at each end of the switch, use a meter to test if the switch is working.

We have yet to reverse engineer the PCB to see what effect the chip on the underside of the PCB has on the controls. As far as we can see the whole system works on the principle that once the instant heat (flash Off) tank gets to temperature, a signal is passed to the PCB to allow the green LED's to come on and allow the pump to operate, however we have not yet sussed how that signal is produced as the tank heating element is powered directly from the mains lead with no auxiliary temperature probes (we suspect some form of current sensing by the PCB when the tank Bi0Metalc switch opens).

If you do not feel comfortable taking it apart then you should try to find a repair shop.
You may be able to Google H20 Steam Mop repair service with your zip but not sure what you will find. It is possible Sears Service center can help you - Google for a center in your area and call to see if they do these repairs.
