I bought a bold area rug for my living room. It is a Lyons multi-colored area rug. My furniture is black, grey, and white. What curtain color should I use to tie in the space. I was thinking yellow and grey.

Is that a black curtain you have there now? I would be inclined to leave it if you need the curtain for privacy. It looks like it would balance out the space nicely when closed. I like colorful items with a neutral black background.
Otherwise a pale creamy yellow...almost white...would be my second choice.
I would use a solid gray color if I were you.

I think the curtain that can be seen in the picture looks great with the rug. However, if you want to change it, I'd suggest using gray. Almost any shade of gray would work.
I like bright sunny colors. I think a light yellow would be wonderful in this space. It's hard to tell from the picture but if it's a small space you definitely want to go with a lighter color of course.
I believe your choice of colors will depend on whether you are going to need privacy - at any time - as lighter colors will rarely give privacy (unless it is a room darkening curtain.
Light solid colors - sunny yellow, light gray, even light beige - if room is on the smaller size and black, dark gray if room is large.
