Many people install the bobbin backwards. Check your manual.
My go to when this happens is to unwind some of the bobbin thread and carefully rewind it it by hand. Sometimes the machine winds it too tight and it won't pull easily. If that fixes it, you may need to adjust the tension in your bobbin winder.
