Survivability of Baby Bird Pushed from a Nest

April 6, 2019

Survivability of Baby Bird Pushed from a Nest - featherless baby birdCan you tell me, how old do you think this baby bird is? And do you think it will make it? He looks as though he could fit in a tablespoon with room to spare. He is in a big burden enclosure at Preakness health care center in Wayne, NJ. All the birds are on perches above the ground, but the baby is on the ground. It was possibly pushed from a nest because he's directly under the nest opening. The drop would have sent him about 5 and half feet down. There's an adult about two feet away that is not interested in the baby.

Its chances will increase if you call a wildlife center. If you dont know the number, call animal control in your area and they will help you. You can also call a local vet for advice.
