I have a soft vinyl recliner and I have worn the edges down to the cloth and almost to the wood on my foot rest in a couple areas about 3 inches by 4 inches long from my feet there all the time. I just want to find a soft vinyl repair tape that I can use to reinforce and keep it from spreading, not to mention the appearance. It is somewhere between a medium and dark chocolate brown. How and where could I possibly purchase this tape without a big price tag on it? I live in Sun City Arizona and I'm on a very restricted budget. Thanks for your time and consideration.

They make duck/duct tape in all kinds of colors now. Stores like WalMart handle it.
Also I have a catalog that has a washable fleece recliner cover. It is four pieces: Two arrmrest covers, a footrest cover, and a cover for the body of the chair, for $19.99.
Maybe you could make a cover for the footrest from an old terrycloth towel.
