What is the year, value, and history of my Lane cedar chest? Serial: 112728 . A second number on it is #44948. Unfortunately I think it was painted black at one point. I'd like to restore it back to its original look. Usually you read Lane numbers backwards, however this serial number backwards is not a real date. Any ideas?

There is a similar one on eBay for $450 (non painted). The cost may be lower for condition.
The value of such items is determined by the sale of one. None of these have been sold in the past year that I can actually find with your number on it. The item you are asking about would probably sell for around $150 in good condition. I know people can ask a lot more for such items but in reality the average asking price is $125 to $175 for these items.
