Most of the Ashley Belle dolls have a value of $25 or less, even with a certificate of authentic and even if never taken out of the box. They are mass-produced.

Ashley Belle dolls are mass produced (xxx/5000) as your certificate will show.
The number before the 5000 is her number when made. Since the company produced 5000 of this one doll you can easily see that others have the same doll with different numbers and many thought they were buying something that would increase in value.

Sadly this did not happen and most Ashley Belle dolls will only have a value of under $25.

  • I do not know the provenance of your doll but I believe there have been some modifications to your doll as there is a doll listed on eBay that is in her original box with her COA (looks like yours) and her dress is different as well as the type of box.

  • These dolls were usually all made exactly the same so it seems that someone may have changed the type of box (to make it appear more valuable?) and altered the dress as it appears the doll listed on eBay is the original doll.
  • Of course, I am just guessing at all of this but I have seen people do this type of thing many times in the past and a lot of this is done when placing dolls in local/small auction houses.
  • You can do your own research by typing her name in Google and keep searching until you find your same type doll. It may take a while but searching eBay listings may get results but only finding one on eBay's sold auctions will give you any true dollar value.
  • As to where she was made, these dolls have been made in several different countries but I do not think that what country she was made will make any difference in her value. You might try looking up the company history but (?).

  • Maybe someone else can offer more information later.

I may have solved the mystery here. I think you have Barbara, not Beatrix.

There is a post on our own beloved TF (this site) where there is someone with Barbara and she looks a lot like yours:

www.thriftyfun.com/Finding-the-Value-of-Ashley-Belle...

You have to scroll down pretty far to find her.

One sold for $1.00 last year on this site:

www.ebth.com/.../5218022-ashley-belle-barbara-porcelain...

You can watch eBay SOLD to see if there are others and how much they fetch and that will give you TODAY's CURRENT market value!

Sadly this doll did not hold her value. She is lovely, but without the real COA she probably won't fetch much on the open market.

This is the season to find a child who will love her and give it to him or her! Dolls were meant to be loved so share the good karma and everyone wins!!

Thanks Pghgirl, I was really curious about this with COA showing Beatrix but I believe you have the right doll.
Sad that none of these lovelies are worth very much money.

I had a vague memory of two similar dolls...I just could not remember the name of the look alike...TF to the rescue!!!

My hope is the swap was done by mistake and not intentionally.

When I worked in one Hallmark people would open boxes and steal COAs. That was sad.
