I adopted my dog; he was a rescue. His papers say he's 1/2 Beagle and 1/2 Jack Russell Terrier. He was abandoned with a litter at a shelter down South.
I also own a Cairn Terrier. He was an energetic pup, but not quite the chewer as this one! My Cairn Terrier is now 7 yrs old so he's calmed down finally, but it took him a long time to chill as he's a playful and energetic breed.
Any opinions on if he looks like he could be mixed with a Pit Bull? It's hard to tell, but I do see Beagle, Jack, Boxer, Pit, etc. lol It's fine if he is, I just was questioning it as I was looking up his breed mix which would be a Jackabee.

he loooks small for a pit bull but certainly if he has any terrier in him he will have pit bull phenotypes and genotypes as they are all related

I don't think there is pit bull in your dog. Based on its appearance, I think the Beagle/Jack Russell mix seems accurate.

I agree with what they told you about beagle (tail, coloring and snout) and maybe Jack Russell (similar coloring to a beagle). There could be some American Foxhound in him since he is a little bigger than the average beagle...or at least he looks a little bigger than my sister beagle, Suzy. Beagles are typically of the 13 inch or 15 inch varieties (height at shoulder). In the mixes that can be over ridden by the mix breed standards. This is a link with pictures of foxhounds www.akc.org/
I see why you think there may be some bully breed with that strip of white on his face, but if he has any, it is a probably just a drop.
Beagles are a lot like the Cairn Terriers in that they take a while to settle into not being a puppy! The beagle (and Fox Hound if any) in him needs good and consistent training!!! If there is Jack in him, hopefully he will have those smarts and love his training and follow it diligently!

I really do see Beagle and Jack Russell. Who ever identified those two traits I believe were quite correct. I see no Pit Bull. Either way he looks like an adorable little fella -------enjoy !!!!
