Cane chair seats that have sagged may be rejuvenated by sponging them with a hot solution of half vinegar / half water and then placing the chairs in the summer sun to dry.

What does vinegar do to help it shrink? Wouldn't water do the same thing if you put it in the sun?

Laniegirl, I suspect adding the vinegar would assist cleansing it not just tightening it. After all, vinegar is such a great cleanser and is also anti bacterial. The sun would also assist in cleansing as well as tightening and drying. Just a thought.
