Does anyone know what type of critter likely built this?
This could be an egg sac from a western lynx spider. The egg sac of this spider is disk shape like the one I am seeing here. The egg sac is normally covered in the web from the spider to protect it. Once the eggs hatch inside the egg sac the babies will live inside the egg and sac for the first month. After this, they will start to bite their way out of the nest like you are seeing here.
Anyone know what this bug is?
Ick...sorry...I have never seen one like him. If it were me, I would scoop him into a glass jar, seal it tightly, double bag and take him to the nearest garden center or hardware store to get an ID on him.
Once you know what he is, you can figure out a good natural way to make him and his friends go bye bye and not come back!
He doesn't have enough legs to be a centipede or millipede

He may be a variant on a silver fish..but they usually have a pretty standard look (at least in my neck of the woods). You don't say where you are from, so if you Google silverfish and your city, you may find he matches a home grown version. The ones I battle periodically in Pittsburgh are like this one:

Let us know what you find!!! Thanks!
Yuck :D Probably a firebrat
I think I've seen a few of those before. They aren't centipedes, nor even closely related. It's an insect, in fact. I'm fairly positive it's some species' larva. Your picture's a bit hard to tell details on the head, though. If it's got a sort of small, pale, almost worm-like head, then it's a firefly larva.
My girlfriend lives on a college campus and she has just started having a problem with this and she doesnt know where these bugs are coming from. Any help is useful.
It is the most odd bug I have ever seen (kind of cute lol) and I wanted to know what it was. It has been on my car for days running around doing bug things.
it to me would do well to have a photo taken from above because from that view it's hard to tell. It looks like it could be a moth or a stinkbug.
How do I get rid of this fast?
Hi it looks remarkably like a flea before it changes to it's "hoppable" state. If it is, the flea eggs will have hatched out into this worm like larva. you could put it in a sealed jam jar which will give you time to see what it becomes.
I might be a meal worm. This is a photo.
DEFINITELY a mealworm-get rid of all your ill-sealed pasta and flour products
I found this bug while I was eating and it kind of freaked me out. So now I'm here asking what bug it is because I'm curious and I think someone can help me.
These bugs were on my mini blinds and I was wondering what they were. Thanks!
What is this insect? It was running up my leg as I was sitting in my chair inside. I pinched it through my pants with two fingers and tried to squish it, but it did not get squished at all.
It was extremely hard. The insect is very small, so it is hard to get the camera to focus. It's smaller than my pinky finger nail.Perhaps its a tick
I found a small insect that looks like a cross between a common house fly and a miniature bee. Any idea what it might be? The insect has the body size and color of a fly (green and blue) and looks like a bee with six legs and small stinger. I tried to take a picture of it, but it was too small for the camera to focus on.

Without seeing a picture, my guess would be a that it is a blue bottle fly. We have them around here and they are harmless. Here is a link that tells about the blue bottle fly.
My initial thought was a sweat bee. But if you are concerned catch one (dead-but recognizable or alive) and take it to your local agricultural office. It may have a different name but it should be listed in your phone book near other local govt offices. Another choice would be to take it to a state park if there is one in your area. Those rangers are pretty knowledgable about most of the critters in their state.
I'm gonna say it's a blueberry bee. This picture best matches the coloration you describe. A picture can be found at: en.wikipedia.org/
I think you may be talking about this bug in pic. I'm trying to figure this out myself. I seen it in Long Island (Mineola)
I am a complete novice learning about home vegetable gardening, mostly by trial and error. I need some help. Can you help me identify the pest in the attached photos? It is killing my zucchini and has already killed our banana peppers. I don't know what will fall next.
I am concerned about using a toxic pesticide. Knowing little, I fear I could damage my soil, and/or at least alter some local ecological systems. I would feel better understanding what confronts me. Where do I go? What do I do? I am grateful for any reply, and thank you in advance for your time.

This isn't going to be helpful at all, just a reaction to the photo. Ack!
I have issues with caterpillars. They give me the heebie-jeebies. And those would probably have me running/screaming out of my back yard (possibly running into something and knocking myself out).
I found aphids that popped up on my cucumbers overnight, and used some insecticidal soap on them. I think I used it two days in a row, and that took care of the problem. It looked like the safest thing when I was at the store (said it was safe to use right up to harvest).
Maybe someone will come on and help you identify those brightly-colored, healthy-looking caterpillars (shudder!). If not, check out this link to Dave's Garden BugFiles:

You can spray your garden with the liquid soap from the kitchen. Fill the bottle almost full of water then put 1 tablespoon of soap in the bottle. Call your County Extension off for all the info on gardening. It's free, good luck.
Diatomaceous Earth
Kills Ants, Fleas, Ticks, Cockroaches, Earwigs, Slugs, Beetles, Flies, Silverfish, Bed Bugs, worms and many other pests, naturally, without harsh synthetic chemicals!
Not only that! It works on pets, dogs, cats and equines for worms and parasites. Human grade though. And it isn't costly! It is great stuff!
Try your local college, or extension service. E-mail your pictures. Also a local garden center, just keep the bugs in a capped jar so they can't escape. I have read that diatomacous earth can be deadly to pets. Check with you vet on that one.
What ever you do please use care. Sadly big business agriculture over does the weed killers, and genetic engineered food which can withstand massive doses of roundup is not good for any of us humans.
Dreaming about my garden as the temps are in the teens, and a large snow storm may blanket the landscape this weekend. Good luck with eliminating those awful bugs.
If your garden is enclosed, get some chickens. They'll clean up those critters in a hurry.
What is this tiny brown bug? Found it dead on my bed next to the cat.
Can some one tell me what kind of bug this is? There are tons inside my shed and they sometimes get in the house.
Does anybody know what this bug is? I think it's either a bed bug or a springtail. I found it on my bed.
Thank you.
Hi there. We have this growing on two plants in our natural area. Are they a bug egg sack or something else.
I tried looking and have not found an answer yet. Located in Wilmington NCThere is this tiny roundish bug that's around the size of a rice grain, but a little bit bigger. It jumps every few seconds and I have an irrational fear of bugs and I don't feel safe with it just jumping and randomly landing on my body at night while I sleep.
When it jumps it sounds like a quiet flicking thing. I just want it gone so I can feel at peace. There is only one of my knowing and it only sounds like there is one. At first I was laying on my bed and felt something land on my hand and thought nothing of it. Then later on I went to scratch my hand and felt a tiny round bug on my hand. It jumped off onto the floor immediately and I went to look for my shoe to crush it, and when I went to grab my shoe next to it on the floor it jumped away, and I managed to get a quick glance.
I was looking for spider mites on a troubled Alberto spruce of mine, but this is the only thing I found. Does anyone recognize what this is?
Thanks!
Does anyone know what these bugs are? They run along my counter tops and back splash in the kitchen. I have checked all food products and cleaned all the cabinets and drawers with bleach, but they are still showing up. They don't fly as far as I have seen, but they are really fast crawlers. I will only see one or two at a time.
