I have not found a comprehensive way to date the Murphy Chests.
I am assuming it is truly the same company--since the chests were made by the bed people--this is a link to the bed people's website.
There is an email so maybe they can help you date the piece.
If you are asking to sell, at the moment, cedar chests of most brands and sizes are low prices sellers. Sadly I have seen them go from $10 into the $100s. I hope you have one that is worth much more!!
