Identifying a Vintage Stuffed Animal?

An old stuffed animal on a couch.Came across this guy in some old family items. To me, he looks cartoonish. Has anyone ever seen an old stuffed animal like this one or know more information about it?

If there is no tag it will be nearly impossible to identify it. You can look often on eBay to see if something similar shows up.

I think this is a skunk plush. Are you sure the nose is original? If yes, then search "vintage skunk plush red nose". This is a pretty distinctive feature.

Examine the plush and look for the label.
I saw such pom pom noses on plush toys from the 1940s and 1950s. I think your toy is from the 1950s.

I think you have Vintage 1950s Skunk Plush Toy made by Character Novelty Company.

This Vintage 1950s Plush Toy, Character Novelty Company Lady Skunk Stuffed Animal 11" has pom pom nose and looks similar, but this is a female skunk:

It is listed at $35.09

Look for the remnants of the tag on the ear. And the tongue of your toy looks like Character Novelty plush tongue: discover.hubpages.com/.../Character-Novelty-Company-Stuffed...

Very unusual.
There were so many companies making plush animals in the 50s-60s that it's difficult to find an unbranded or no tag plush.
Is there a remnant of a tag?

Can you tell us where it's located? Or post a picture showing any remnant of a tag?
Tag positions on plush toys help identify the company name/brand.

You might join several of these sites to see if someone can help you, as these members have a lot of knowledge about vintage toys.
