Is My Dog a Pure Bred German Shepherd?

Is My Dog a Pure Bred German Shepherd? - black and white puppy with big earsHe was rescued from a flooded breeder who said he is a full blood panda GSD, but we have our doubts! I love him already though. He is 20 weeks old.

I don't think he has any traits of a German Shepherd. A DNA will tell you his bloodline.

Did he come with papers? He has the right coloring, but the snout doesn't look quite right, although he may grow into his full looks.

Have you had the vet check him out yet? Vets are really good with breed spec guesstimates.

He is adorable!! I am so happy you found each other. May you have lots and lots of fun adventures!!

I think your dog is cute as can be but I don't see German Shepherd traits, not even panda German Shepherd. His coat, ears and nose don't match up with that of a panda German Shepherd. Regardless of breed or breed mix, he looks like he has a fantastic personality. Just love him for what he is and you'll have a great companion.

Although he does appear to have some of the Panda German Shepard markings his ears are pretty 'floppy' for a shepherd.
Probably only a DNA test would tell you the true breeds.

He is adorable. Panda is an obscure line of GSDs. It is a spontaneous appearance of piebald coloring (spotted white) in one GSD line. Tracking down his bloodline could be very difficult. If you really want to know I think I would go for a dna test.

However it could turn out that this obscure line is not included in the dna test just because it is so rare. But the test should be able to describe your dogs GSD genes.

I am sorry but he does not look like a pure bred German Shepard to me. I do believe he is a mixed breed because of his color and makings.
