Kitchen Sink Color Advice?

I have a white counter top with black appliances. I'm replacing my sink and wondering if a black cast iron would be too bold or should I stick to white? I have cherry cabinets with a grey floor. Also, what kind of faucet would you recommend?

Dirt and spots show up on a black sink as white or gray. Pot marks show on a white sink. Stainless steel goes with everything and is easiest to maintain, in my opinion. A one-handled faucet is sleek and easy to use.

We did a stainless steel sink and nickel faucet with our cherry cabinets and cobalt blue floor and a butter tinged white painted walls with white trim. We have white, yellow and orange back-splash tiles and black and white appliances (that is not what I want, but could not afford to replace the white appliance just yet so it is not exactly perfect, but we love it). I like the stainless steel sink. The white one I had before NEVER stayed clean and would drive bonkers.

Hi,
I love the idea of a black sink to match your appliances. I also like faucets that are arched, to give more room for big pots and pans.
Blessings,
Robyn

It depends on your preference. I personally do not like white sinks because they stain easily. Black cast iron sinks are quite popular now and they have resistant from chips, scratches, and burns nowadays.

I do still prefer stainless steel.

I would recommend stainless steel, as others have said. It is the easiest to maintain and will look the best over a long period of time. It is also safer for your dishes (less likely to break). Regarding a faucet, I would stick to quality brands and avoid the inexpensive ones. If you like the idea of a single arching faucet (where you can pull it out for spraying) the tubing on the inexpensive ones will not last as long. Personally, I really like Delta, Kohler, and Moen. I avoid Price Phister, as they are always difficult when it comes to repairs in my experience. Finally, I would recommend a single handed faucet as these make the sink area easier to clean.
