Repairing the Springs on a Rocking Chair/Glider?

The zig zag springs keep popping out of the holes. Any suggestions? As soon as I put them in the hole, they slide right out.

The holes are too big. Plug them up with wood filler

There are a number of videos on YouTube with ideas on how to make sure repairs. This is one but there are bunches. If you know the brand of the glider, you may be able to find something more specific. This one is pretty general:
