My dog died yesterday morning 18 November 18, 2019. Her name was Jojo. She was 9 years and 5 months old. Jojo was rescued from the street as a 1 week old puppy. Her colour was pure black with white on her chest (the white coloured area was medium sized). We did not know breed. My dog is didn't go outside of the compound. She was a virgin bitch. My dog's problem was that she produced milk from her breasts without being pregnant. She would drink her own milk.

Her left leg had one 4cm cyst visible. On 14 November 2019 she started to vomit continuously. She stopped barking and eating. She was tired, but could walk. At that time when she urinated there was one drop of blood. I could not tell clearly if the blood was came from her vaginal, bladder, or anal area. That was her last urine.

The next day the veterinarian gave her 3 injections and two tonics. The vomiting stopped, but she wasn't eating. One more thing, her temperature was low. The doctor told me that my dog got a viral fever. On the second day she was given 3 more injections and a pain tablet also. She was not eating when forced feeding. On the third day the doctor told me she had a serious uterus infection.

It was now an emergency because the doctor didn't check up properly on the first and second day. The third day was Sunday so the x-ray center was closed. We planned an x-ray for the next day. On the third day the doctor gave 3 injections, one for passing urine (because my dog did pass urine 2 days). Another injection was for increasing her appetite. And the final one was an energy injection. The next day, Monday, my dog passed pure black stool. She stopped walking completely.

On Monday morning at 8.30am my dog died. Her tongue was out. Below her abdominal area had been swollen for the last 3 days. I'm told that matter to the doctor, but he said viral fever. My dog started vomiting on 14 November and died 18 November in the morning at 8.30. Here there is no emergency doctors for pets. I'm from India. Please tell me what was the reason my dog died. I had two dogs; one has died and another one is fine. It is a 6 year old female dog. Please tell me reason.

A spayed dog who never had a pregnancy can in fact have symptoms that of and other symptoms related to it. It's called false pregnancy.

Viral infections are serious and requires seeing a vet asap. The many symptoms could have been from multiple things happening all at once such as internal parasites as well as a urinary track infection too (blood/diarrhea).

Consider the dog's age factor and health condition prior and how quickly this illness overcame her. It sounds like your dog's vet was trying hard to cure her and it became too much for her to pull through.

It's always sad to lose a pet you loved and I hope you can bring yourself through the grieving process because somewhere out there is another animal in need of a family. You were kind to take the puppy into your life and provide a good home. You helped save a puppy prolonging a good life for almost 9.6 years. God bless you!

My Pit Bull, Rocsi, passed away today. She seemed fine until yesterday. She was drooling with some foam hanging from her mouth. She was breathing a little fast. Her stomach was moving a lot. But there was no panting. She seemed a little weak. Not really happy or responding to me.

Her head was a little low. I was gonna take her to the vet today if she didn't get any better. But I guess I was too late. I'm devastated. I can't help but blame myself. If anyone one knows what it could have been please respond.

How sad for you! Dont blame yourself. Your dog could have had an undiagnosed illness or physical defect. It could also have been poisoning. The only way to know for sure would be an autopsy.

My house was broken into and my red nose Pit Bull was gone. I looked all night for him and have an idea who could have done it if it was foul play. I found my dog at 7 am and he was by a garbage can right off the side of the road directly behind my house.Cause of My Dog's Death

His tongue was sticking out and it looks like his jaws were locked and his tongue was blue. He had a small cut on his lip and inside his mouth looked swollen. Beside that there wasn't blood like he was hit by a car. He was swollen, but his eyes were not blood shot or dilated. They did not turn red until the next day.

I'm including 2 pictures one showing how I found him and the other before I buried him. My dog went everywhere I went. I left him one time at home with the doors locked for only four hours I came back home my back door was wide open. I feel like it's haunting me. I must know what happened to my dog. He doesn't look he was hit by a car to me. In the second picture you can see he barely started bruising around his face that was day 2. I couldn't bury him right away and his eyes started turning red

What a tragedy! I am sure your dog died of trauma related to his beating and subsequent injuries.

This situation just sounds heartbreaking. You have my most since sympathy on your loss and prayers around the whole situation.

I hope you had the police involved since it sounds like there are several crimes that occurred (like breaking into your house, theft if things were stolen, and if the person/people let the dog outside, I don't know if there is a reckless endangerment for animals like there is for people, but if someone broke in and let the dog out, that could be reckless endangerment).

Did the police see photos of the dog? Did you show the dog's vet?

I would look to experts for what may have happened. Crowd sourcing will only provide speculation that may lead you down the wrong paths and cause greater anxiety. A vet can tell you what the signs and symptoms you saw may relate to. The police even may have some feedback since they see it all also.

Please post back what the police tell you and if you are able to get any feedback from the vet.

Prayers continue.

I've had two cats in my life that were hit by cars and died. No signs of blood, but the vet felt there may have been internal bleeding and injuries.

My Scottish terrier was only 8 years old and we found him on his side and he had pooped himself. He was normal that morning. He had his breakfast. He did lose his bff at the beginning of summer, but it honestly looked like we got him over the initial loss.

He was having accidents and was going to the vet on Monday I feel like I missed something. He was eating and drinking and full of spunk. I'm heartbroken.

Our 9 and a half month German Shepherd pup died suddenly this week. I went on a brief 20 minute errand. When I left the pup was happy and seemed normal. I returned 18 minutes later and he was in his bed lifeless. I tried CPR. There was no pulse or breathing.

I took him to the the vet where they did a post mortem. They found abnormalities in the lungs, evidence of past infection, and thickening of the lining. There was also internal bleeding and damage to his liver. There were no signs of trauma, no vomit or fecal/urine matter only a damp spot on his bed, probably saliva. Also there was no evidence of pills or capsules in his stomach. The vet's conclusion was he died from a ruptured liver sustained during the 18 minutes I was gone.

He was a very active guy, itched a lot and often shook his head and whined like he was trying to tell us something. This behavior was more pronounced the morning before he died. I am thinking that I may have caused some of the bleeding during my attempt to resuscitate him and the cause of death was something else. We are confused and grief ridden. He was a wonderful guy, we love and miss him very much.

I'm so sorry for what happened to you! What a heartbreaker.

Is it possible that it was very hot and he was dehydrated? Another possibility is that he was poisoned. Did his tongue or mouth turn blue? If yes, then it was certainly poison.

Having been in your shoes 2 years ago, I feel your pain and send you my deepest and most heartfelt condolences on your loss. Your pup will always have a special place in your heart and I am convinced that they become fur angels who watch over us, so he will be looking out for you!!

Our vet said our girl (she was 17 1/2) had a stroke and there was nothing that could have prevented it. In older pups, health conditions (just like in humans) come up in a flash and often there is little that can be done.

For your sweet baby, tt could have been any number of things. I know it is hard not to focus on the what...so I will pray that eventually that feeling goes away and you can remember that you gave your fur baby a wonderful life and 16 amazing years.

Be easy on yourself and hopefully soon your will find it in your heart to remember the joy he brought and get comfort from those memories.

G-d bless you and your family and sending up prayers for healing hearts for all!

First of all my condolences for your loss I completely understand. Our baby went outside and passed away minutes after going outside and we had no idea what had happened. We took her to the vet and they said that she had been stung by a bee or a wasp and was allergic and we had no idea.

It killed her within minutes. A stroke could be plausible, or you may want to see if there is any kind of bee or wasp nest in your yard or area where they play as well.

My 5 year old chocolate Lab, lost her appetite and acted tired. The next morning she had a little more energy, but still was not eating normally. There was no diarrhea or vomiting that I'm aware of. By evening she had no energy to walk, ignored my calls for her until I found her hiding. I think I momentarily stopped her from giving out at that moment.

I offered her water and chicken breast. She took it and wagged her tail and finally perked her ears a bit, then fell over/laid down and couldn't move easily. She finished her food and died. Any insight? I've gone through everything she could have got into and found nothing that would harm her.

My dog, my best friend died unexpectedly and very suddenly 2 days ago with absolutely no warnings or symptoms. He was a 1.5 year old Pit Bull that I got at 2 months old. He was fixed and always up to date on his shots. He was seemingly in perfect health and as happy as could be. We were outside playing. He was running to me and suddenly mid run, he flopped on his back. His legs were still kind of moving in run motion. I went up to him; his eyes and mouth were still open like when he was running, but there was no life to his face and his tongue was flopped out. He let out a deep loud screech, flopped over, became limp and that was it. All within seconds.

The vet said maybe an undetectable heart issue, but I can't seem to find anything upon google searches, that are so sudden like that, with no symptoms. Any idea? I am driving myself crazy trying to figure it out.

My baby just died last night and I've been wondering what the causes were. She was a lovable playful 6 month old puppy, who was always excited and jumping and running around all the time. Just yesterday she was her loving self. I didn't see anything wrong throughout the day. It was when it was around 9 pm that I took her outside with all my other dogs because my house was so warm and I wanted her to cool off and just play.

I put on a movie and was just entertained when my dad goes outside to check on my dogs and calls my name. I go outside and see that halfway through the lawn, she was laying there. I ran up to see what was wrong, but it was too late to do anything, she was already gone. It seemed she was pooping and just laid there, eyes wide open. There was a lot of saliva from her mouth, but I couldn't see her tongue because her jaw was so stiff. The whole night I've been crying and wondering what happened to my little baby.

My Pomeranian passed away last week. I don't know why, although she started to walk as if she was stunned for a second. Not long after she was tilting to one side. When we noticed we rang an emergency vet, but then her legs stiffened then she was gone.

I'm a nurse and have seen loads of patients pass away, but I cannot stop crying over my Trixy Bella. She was so healthy.

I had three Pugs and suddenly each day my dogs would get lethargic, struggling to breathe, and eventually pass on. At this moment all my pugs have passed on. What could've caused this?

Oh my. You and your family have my deepest condolences on the lose of your pups. So sad.

You may want to talk to your vet Asap.

Sadly like people pups die suddenly. That you experienced such a tragic lss of more than one pup, you may want to take foods and medications to have the vet review and see if he/she can have them tested. Anything that all would have had in common. also ask about parvo. They can do necropsy on the pup's also.

My fragile 17 year old Brussels Griffon was on my bed and jumped off suddenly. Her legs were no longer strong enough to land on her feet and she immediately stretched out her body and made some noises. I picked her up and she passed in my arms.

I am crushed. Did the trauma cause her to have a heart attack? She had severe heart disease. She wanted on the bed so I gave in and placed her on bed and in seconds she just darted off the bed onto the hardwood floor. She loved the bed. I blame myself. Any feedback would be so appreciated.

Don't blame yourself, as 17 years old is an elderly dog. The cause could have been heart failure. Your vet would be a better source of information.

My baby Pug was 4 and half years old. He was my everything, my best friend, my baby, my world. He was fit and fine, but last night he didn't eat and he couldn't walk. I was so worried what was happening to him? It was late night so I decided to take him to vet the next morning. When I woke up he was lying on the floor and pissing he couldn't even get up to piss.

When I took him to the vet the doctor said nothing and gave him DNS and three other injections. Suddenly my baby pug pooped and he stopped breathing. I told the doctor to do something, but he said, I can do nothing. My baby Pug's tongue was out and turning purple.

This is saddest day of my life. I miss my baby so much. Can anybody tell what actually caused him to die? Pugs live like 10-16 years; my baby was just 4 and half.

My 2.5 month old Labrador bitch Jenny died suddenly. She was very healthy and playing with me in the morning. It was time for food. I gave her regular Pedigree food. She took one or two bites of food and suddenly was breathing fast.

I think food was stuck in her throat. I searched in her mouth for food pieces with my fingers and got them out. But she continued to breath fast and suddenly she went to her bed. Then white foam came out from her mouth. After few seconds blood also coming from her mouth. And she did potty and toilet.

I was shocked by what was happening. Immediately I took her to hospital. She made susu on the way. And before reaching hospital my Jenny died. The doctor said she is no more. I can't believe it still. I loved my Jenny very much. But still I don't know how she died?

OMG...you have my deepest sympathy on the passing of your beloved fur girl. Did the vet hospital give you any indication? They are the experts...as a layperson I can only guess and truly that is probably not helpful for you to guess or second guess.

What I hear and read is that you gave her a wonderful life and you did the absolute right thing taking her for care as soon as you noticed something was wrong.

Please be easy on yourself.

You and she will be in my prayers!

He was 8 months old, very healthy and a happy dog. I was away for 3 days and when I returned I learned that he had not been eating well for 3 days. I searched for him all over the house and tried to feed him, but he wouldn't eat. It was late at night and no veterinarians were available. The next morning he seemed to be fine.

I have a very hectic schedule for which I hardly stay home. I was away for another two days and this morning I called him out, but he did not come. I went nearer to him and tried feeding him, he did not eat at all. After an hour he started making weird loud sounds similar to barking and then his jaw changed its position. He started taking very deep breaths and finally stopped breathing with his eyes open and tongue sticking out. I'm so guilty I wonder what could the reason be.

You have my deepest sympathy on your loss. The loss of a pet is never, ever easy, and even more challenging when it is a young pup. You could talk to your vet to see if he/she has any feedback for you. Every dog is different so it could be anything from an infection like a parvo to a congenital condition with dozens of things in between.

Some times, like in humans, you may not know an exact cause and that just s**ks. Beating yourself up will only make you sad, so I urge you to be kind to yourself.

When you are up to it, I suggest looking for a grief support group for folks like you who lost a beloved pet. Our local animal shelter has one. Your local human funeral home many even know of such a services.

I will send up lots of wishes to help your heart heal from your loss.

I am so sorry for your loss. What a sad and difficult thing to go through. Anytime a dog or cat stops eating is is an emergency. They need to see a Vet ASAP. Some things can wait, but not eating cannot. We have all been in a position where we just didn't know what to do. I pray for healing and peace of mind for you.

My dog had surgery about a month ago on her leg after a Pit Bull attack. She was checked out by 2 vets and they said her health was fine. She had to get stitches and a metal plate with screws in it to put the bones back together. She was walking like her old self again.

But yesterday my kids found her by the fence in our yard, dead. I don't understand what happened. She was fine and healthy Monday, went missing and was found dead on Friday. Can anyone give me some answers?

My 14 year old dog passed yesterday and it was very upsetting to watch. While we were outside he started barking, and we went in for a break and sat down. We heard him starting to breathe extremely fast and saw his eyes roll in the back of his head. His head flopped backwards and his tongue was out as he was shaking.

This went on for around 8 minutes and it was horrible as I could not tell if he was alive during the shaking or not. It's awful to think his last moments were pain like that. He did have heart failure. So I need to know is that normal for dogs to die like that, and did he die before the 8 minute shaking went on.
