Feed Dogs Yogurt for Allergies
My dog Dazee has problems with allergies that cause her to chew, lose hair and get sick. After treating her with cortisone shots, not only was it becoming expensive to visit the Vet, the expensive foods we bought she refused to eat. Then this past January, she was in real bad shape, and I had recently started eating yogurt a lot and it was helping me with my digestive system. I thought well I will try yogurt on her food.

Use Saran Wrap As An Emergency Bandage
Recently while visiting my sister, her daughter showed up in the middle of the night with her beloved Honey, a beautiful pit bull boxer mix. She was named Honey because she was the color of honey. A hunter had mistaken her for a deer we can only assume. She was shot in the hindquarters with a large portion of her hip missing, the girl didn't know what to do and no one was open for a few hours yet.

If your pet is on medication sometimes it's cheaper to get the medication through your people pharmacy. I had a dog on phenobarbital and it was loads cheaper getting it at my local pharmacy.

Buy a Year's Worth of Pet Medication from Your Vet
My elderly cat is on high blood pressure and thyroid medication. She receives a partial tab of each once a day. My vet usually dispenses out 60 days worth, about 30 tabs, of each for over $60.00. I asked if I could purchase an entire bottle of each of the the meds equal to 1 years worth. The total cost for both meds for the entire year was $95.00 and no dispensing fee.

Set Up A Pet Care Savings Account
I see a lot of requests for advice about sick pets from people unwilling or unable to go to the vet due to the expense. Here is what has worked for me. I have added pet care into my weekly budget. I started a savings account and each payday the amount I have determined I can afford goes directly into that account. I do not use it for anything except vet costs.

Natural Remedy for Hot Spots
It works! Steep 2 tea bags in 1/2 cup of boiling water; add 1 cup of alcohol; dissolve 2 aspirin tablets in the solution; apply to the area with a cotton ball; let dry thoroughly. Apply 2 to 3 times a day as needed.
